Fender JV Stratocaster, ST-57, Sonic Blue: FOR DISPLAY ONLY

A very clean 1983 ST-57 Stratocaster in the beautifully aged Sonic Blue finish, coupled with its natural vintaged maple neck--awesome! This guitar was shipped straight from Japan. It is very hard to find them in this condition. There are a couple pings and dings, as documented in the picture slideshow. However, the guitar is in excellent condition for being over 30 years old. And look at the condition of the frets--very little wear. The pickups were said to be of Fender USA stock. The sound they emit through my Fender tweed is simply magic. Very little noise, with chime to die for. I LOVE these JV guitars. Of course, I tested the guitar, and I had a terrible time putting it away. The selector had some noise when switching, but not when in gear. An easy fix ,if you care. A rare and unique guitar for sure.

1982/83 Fender JV Squier '62 Stratocaster, Seafoam Green: FOR DISPLAY ONLY
$

This is a very beautiful JV Squier. It was purchased from a reputable owner in Japan. It truly lives up to the hype that makes these guitars so desired: that chime, the sound and feel that drove the incredible demand for the original pre-CBS strats. The former owner described it as California Blue faded to Seafoam. Only the unexposed pocket shows the blue color. The color is a gorgeous aged patina. The neck and head have that beautiful aged vintage finish. There are some ding and scuffs. However, this guitar is in remarkable condition overall. The original frets have some wear in the places you'd expect. However, it still plays great, with no buzzing or fretting out. The original gig bag is included. I LOVE this guitar. I was lucky to find it.

**** NOT FOR SALE 1983 Fender JV '57 Stratocaster, Fiesta Red NOT FOR SALE ***

This '57 Fiesta Red JV Stratocaster is obviously not for sale. My dad bought it for me at Dave's Shop in La Crosse, WI, in 1984. It was not my first electric guitar, but close to it.
Dave's was still at its original location on Ward Ave. in La Crosse when my dad bought it. I had my Washburn electric stolen in a burglary in La Crosse. I saw this orange guitar at Dave's, and it was love at first sight. He already had the Taos Turquoise '57 Stratocaster hanging on the wall. There were maybe 25 guitars in all, including a couple paisley telecasters. But I wanted this one, even though Fender Japan was hardly coveted at the time. I remember the guy who was watching the store pointed out how similar this '57 was to the actual thing, using the Taos '57 as a reference, including that it had 8 guard screws, etc.
When I had this refretted (6105's) a couple years ago at Dave's, Dave looked at it and said some guy from Iowa had been doctoring the headstocks on JV's by removing the "made in Japan" sticker and trying to sell them as American Strats. Dave is a wealth of knowledge.
This is the guitar I learned on. For a couple years, I walked around my apartment and the practice studio with this over my shoulder and beer in hand. Despite a few knocks and strap slips, it is still in remarkable condition.
