This is an exceptional example of this limited edition guitar. There are very few issues with the finish, particularly for a 35-plus-year-old. The TV Yellow color was originally designed to appear better on that novel device, the black-and-white TV screen. Whatever. The TV Yellow finish is totally cool.
To be honest, I have not been a huge fan of the darker-sounding Gibson Les Paul humbucker guitars. So, the single-coil P-90's in this guitar really surprised me. This is a rock guitar. The tone is shockingly good. The action is very fast. Playing this guitar for the first time is, like,"DAMN!" But, you can also dial it down for some really, really awesome mellow tone picking or plucking. The flexibility is spectacular.
I admit it. I get pretty nostalgic when it comes to late-1970's rock. That was the music of my youth. There is a ton of great music to listen to from that era--from staples to ground-breaking stuff. I see this guitar as being part of that scene. That makes is super-cool, in my book.
